Sustainable Imperial logoIn November 2019, Professor Paul Lickiss, the College’s first Academic Leader in Sustainability was appointed with a remit to develop a Sustainability Strategy for the College.

Our Sustainability Strategy 2021 - 2026 was launched in early 2021, guided by our Sustainability Strategy Advisory Group and the College-wide Consultation.

We are constantly evolving our Strategy, and expect to add further activities, science-based targets and measures as our work as an institution gathers further momentum in this area. Please get in touch if you have any comments or suggestions, or would like to contribute to the work, on

Sustainability Strategy Advisory Group

In 2020, our Sustainability Strategy Advisory Group met to discuss key matters relating to environmental sustainability, considering progress that has already been made in this area, best practice across the wider sector, and College-level challenges and opportunities.

Sustainability Strategy Consultation

Both internal and external stakeholders were interviewed to inform the scope of the strategy and feedback from a College-wide survey in summer 2020 fed into its development. We received over 1,000 responses from staff and students to hear from you on what matters most to you in this area and how we can achieve our goals.

Thank you to all those who took the time to tell us their views on how we can make a positive difference as a College and how we can improve the sustainability of our campuses. Your feedback was very important to our Strategy development.
