AB - The tribological properties of phosphorus based and phosphorus-sulfur based antiwear additive in hydrocracked oil were studied under boundary lubrication conditions. Different types of P-based and P-S based antiwear additives were compared to a primary ZDDP. The ashless P- and P-S compounds can form thick, solid-like films similar to ZDDP, with P-compounds producing thicker films than P-S compounds. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the World Tribology Congress (Kyoto, Japan 9/6-11/2009).
