The six-month pilot, which began in September 2018, has been co-designed by local women in order to best fit their needs. It is initially supporting 16 women between the ages of 18 and 64 from the north of the Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.

The programme has been designed to combine skills development with personal reflection and growth, in order to encourage the formation of an enduring learning set and an ongoing network. The sessions are based on the exploration of three critical factors:

  • the participant’s own knowledge, skills and aspirations;
  • the environments and structures that influence or dictate the choices women can make;
  • the relationships through which women negotiate their lives.

Over six sessions, the programme covers different aspects of leadership and professional development. Topics that will be covered at the monthly sessions will include:

  • Leadership
  • Communication
  • Confidence
  • Project management and making things happen
  • Change management
  • Coaching
  • Unconcious bias
  • Action planning and the future

Taking place at a variety of venues across the Borough, each session is led by a professional trainer and the participants also hear from an inspirational guest speaker.

At the end of the programme, participants, along with their friends and families, are invited to attend a Graduation Ceremony.
