The CFNMR Centre was established in 2006 with SRIF2 funding as part of a £5.2 million package allocated by Imperial College London for state-of-the-art upgrading of analytical facilities within the Division of Molecular Biosciences, Department of Chemistry and Department of Biomolecular Medicine.  The versatility of NMR has resulted in its application in a diverse range of research and the centre was set up with the goals of:

  •  Promoting cross-faculty interaction and collaboration.
  •  Supporting and extending Imperial's outstanding international reputation in the field of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy.
  •  Cost efficiency through the sharing of common resources.

The centre was formally opened by the then Rector of the college, Sir Richard Sykes, in September 2006.
