Nuclear Engineering

The Nuclear Engineering Group comprises ~20 PhDs and postdoctoral research associates, engaged in research into reactor physics and shielding, reactor studies, thermal hydraulics and nuclear safety. The Nuclear Engineering Group has, over two decades, developed an internationally leading record in pure and applied research into reactor physics, heat and mass transfer, fluid flow and multiphase flow in the context of current nuclear research. It hosts an extensive range of experimental and computational facilities and has links and collaborations with leading research groups at, among others, the University of Leeds, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (India), Kyung Hee University (South Korea) and Paul Scherrer Institute (Switzerland). The Group is engaged in several collaborations with UK partners Rolls-Royce, AMEC Forster-Wheeler and Corporate Risk Associates.
