Jiahui QiThe formation of iron sulfide (FexSy) surface film on wet steel pipeline is a critical issue in the lifetime integrity of infrastructure in the oil and gas industries.

The interaction between the pipeline surface and hydrogen sulphide is a complex and dynamic process, involving structure evolution, particle precipitation and species transformation. My focus in this project is to elucidate in situ the complex interactions between steel surfaces and hydrogen sulfide in solution to understand the nanoscale morphological evolution and the kinetic formation process of iron sulfide scales under well controlled environments.
