Julie McCann

Julie McCann is Professor of Computer Systems at Imperial College London (IC), where she leads the Adaptive Embedded Systems Engineering Research Group. She is also a co-Director of the Intel Collaborative Research Institute for Sustainable Cities and the NEC Smart Water Systems Lab and has many other substantive projects with industry and academia, with a focus on networking and sensing/actuation infrastructures to support environments such as smart cities, water and gas networks, energy/water/food nexus, precision farming and has a patented sensing infrastructure for sensorless industrial equipment monitoring.

Prof Andy Stanford-Clark is the Chief Technology Officer for IBM in UK and Ireland. He is an IBM Distinguished Engineer and Master Inventor with more than 40 patents. Andy is based at IBM's Hursley Park laboratories in the UK, and has a long background in Internet of Things technologies.

TheoAs London’s first Chief Digital Officer, Theo will play a leading role in realising the Mayor’s ambition to make London the world’s smartest city, ensuring that the capital’s status as a global tech hub helps transform the way public services are designed and delivered, making them more accessible, efficient and responsive to the needs of Londoners.

Theo joins with extensive public and private sector experience. As Cabinet member for Finance, Technology & Growth at Camden council, Theo established Camden as London’s leading digital borough through its use of public data – and this year they received national recognition as Digital Leaders ‘Council of the year’. 

He’s worked at GovTech accelerator Public Group, advising start-ups on the growing market in local public services, and was previously Head of Policy & Public Affairs for the video games industry’s trade body, Ukie.
