Centenary Ceremony - 9 July 2007


Her Majesty The Queen visiting Imperial

On Monday 9 July 2007, Imperial College London officially celebrated its 100th birthday with a special ceremony in the presence of Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness, The Duke of Edinburgh. During the ceremony, The Queen presented Imperial with its new Royal Charter, marking our independence from the University of London. The Queen also awarded the first Imperial College degrees to several honorary graduates who wore the new academic dress of the College.
