A perspective projection of a dodecahedral tessellation in H3. Four dodecahedra meet at each edge, and eight meet at each vertex, like the cubes of a cubic tessellation in E3.

Title: Localization in Enumerative Geometry

Speaker: Felix Thimm

Abstract: In enumerative algebraic geometry, we try to compute invariants of varieties, usually defined as certain counts of objects in an associated moduli space. In this talk, we give an introduction to this field, focused on localization, which is one of the main computational tools for such invariants.

Some snacks will be provided before and after the talk.
