This course aims to equip healthcare providers with the knowledge and skills to assess, resuscitate and stabilise the critically ill child. The course will cover common paediatric emergencies and provide management strategies for the initial stabilisation of the patient. The course is designed to work on optimising multi-disciplinary team functionality in adverse situations. The course will provide the opportunity to practice the skills taught in a variety of workshops and simulated learning events.
The course is part of a range of short courses spread throughout the academic year which are available both to students who are enrolled on the MSc in paediatrics and child health and as stand-alone CPD accredited programmes for all healthcare professionals. The courses are offered in line with level 3 of the RCPCH curriculum.
