CSEI Workshop and Call for Feasibility Studies

In February 2018 CSEI plan to fund small research calls to initiate and support Centre related work. To assist in the process on Friday 26th January 2018 CSEI hosted our internal research call workshop.

The workshop provided an platform for potential applicants, internal staff and industry to engage with our centre and to shape feasibility studies related to our vision and aims.

Presenters Professor Jennifer Whyte, Dr Maria Chatzimichailidou, Mr Ranjith Soman (Imperial College London) and Dr Chris Millard (Laing O'Rourke)discussed the various challenges currently facing system engineering in civil infrastructure. Attendees then split into three breakout groups focusing on the centres three key themes of Production systems, Interdependencies within and across infrastructures and lifecycle.

The call
We particularly encourage research that uses a systems engineering framework, maps systems performance in construction, considers the relationship between standardisation and performance efficiency in operations, or that considers early stage set-up of projects from a systems engineering perspective.

Full details can be found on our Research call page.
