This page contains upcoming developments within research management reporting.
|Keyword Reporting||The Research Office is working on ways to automate population of keywords to allow reporting on strategic themes. Completeness of classification is improving (over 75%) though if this is an area that would benefit stakeholders, then it is requested that departments ensure InfoEd applications have at least one keyword assigned to them at application stage.|
|Departmental Strategic Research Dashboard||A dashboard focussing on providing actionable information for senior management within a department to manage their portfolio has been generated and is currently being piloted by the Department of Materials. Content includes, among other things, information relating to research funding by departmental strategic theme, by overseas funding source and collaborations. Improvements will be made to the dashboards following feedback from all departments with the intention of building equivalent dashboards and releasing them to departments College-wide in the Summer, should the feedback be positive.|
|Collaborator / Expert Identifier||Using public data, a means to identify which academics across the UK have received the most public funding associated with a specific term or keyword to assist academics in finding potential collaborators is being developed. Details of their publicly funded awards, including abstracts, would be available to determine if the academic is appropriate. Feedback on if this would be a useful tool and which staff groups would most benefit from this would be greatly appreciated: firstname.lastname@example.org|
|Research Partner budget reporting||We are undertaking development to record research partner institutions when budgets are allocated to an award. Currently we have a limited ability to report on research partner collaborations and this will allow much more robust reporting going forward.|
|Spend reports in BIEE||We are investigating the feasibility of producing regular spend reports (as per Report2Web) using BI Publisher. This would allow greater ease in customising reports and could reduce costs.|
