Membership schemes

ACS Author Rewards

This scheme applies to every author publishing in an American Chemical Society (ACS) journal.

For each ACS article, you should receive two $750 voucher codes (sent via email), which can be offset against future open access charges. Vouchers can be redeemed via RightsLink or the ACS Author Rewards app in ACS ChemWorx, where you can also view your codes.

Please let us know when you apply for APC funding via Symplectic if you are planning to use vouchers to offset the cost of your open access publication. Vouchers are transferrable and there is no limit to the number of Author Rewards vouchers you can receive.

ACS Author Rewards

BioMed Central

This membership provides Imperial authors with a 15% discount on APCs for articles accepted for publication in BioMed Central and Springer Open journals.

To ensure you receive a discount, either submit your article while on-campus or, if off-campus, use your Imperial email address and select Option 3 plus Imperial College London from the drop down list, as well as using an imperial.ac.uk email address.

As this membership only provides a discount on the APC please apply for APC funding via Symplectic in the usual way.

RSC Gold 4 Gold vouchers

Imperial has received a number of Gold 4 Gold vouchers as part of the Library’s subscription to RSC Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) journals.

Each voucher pays for one article of any type and will be allocated with the agreement of the Head of the Department of Chemistry. As the number of vouchers is limited, a voucher will not be used for papers arising from RCUK and Charity Open Access Fund funding. Once your voucher number has been supplied, complete the application form on the Gold for Gold website and download a new licence to publish as requested by RSC.
