Civil Engineering (1913 - 1998)

The Department of Civil Engineering at Imperial College London was established in 1913. Civil engineering had been taught since 1884 at the Central Institution of the City and Guilds of London Institute, which subsequently became the City and Guilds College of Imperial College London. In 1998 the Department changed its name to the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
