Higher rate taxpayers

Higher rate taxpayers in the UK who make a direct cash donation are able to claim through Gift Aid some of the tax that they have paid on that income. The donation is worth more to Imperial because we are able to claim the basic rate tax that the donor paid on the income they donated. As a higher rate taxpayer, the donor can then claim the difference between the lower rate tax (that Imperial claim) and the higher rate of tax they have actually paid. The Gift Aid scheme provides an easy way to make your donation go even further and provide tremendous benefit to the College. To find out more about Gift Aid, please visit our Gift Aid page.
