The EU Regulation does not cover any beverages with alcohol - this means that no drinks containing alcohol can make a health claim.

There are lots of other examples examples of foods that are not permitted to make health claims such as foods with high fat or high sugar. This means that even if extra vitamins etc. are added to butter, companies are not allowed to advertise the health benefits becuase it is intrisically bad.

Food supplements are also not covered (see Botanicals).

This may seem faily obvious, but it prevents companies promoting their brands as 'healthy' when they contain substances which are bad for you. For example, yoghurts may contain calcium and vintamin D, but they cannot promote the health benefits of this if they have a high sugar content - this prevents consumers being mislead.
