  • Dr Ben Britton co-chaired a session at Microscopy and Microanalysis, in Portland OR on automated mapping in TEM and SEM.
  • Dr Terry Jun, Dr Ben Britton, Prof David Dye, Anna Radecka, Peter Evans and Peter Tympel attended the World Titanium Conference. Terry presented on rate sensitivities of Ti alloys with micropillar compression. Ben oresented on stresses near grain boundaries in Ti revealed with 3D XRD. Anna presented on alpha2 formation in Ti-Al alloys. Peter T presented on complex fatigue regimes in Ti-64. Peter E presented on TWIP in beta-Ti.

July 2015

  • Dr Zebang Zheng presented at the 9th European Solid Mechanics Conference in Madrid Spain on creep and load shedding investigated with dislocation dynamics.
  • Prof David Dye, Dr Mezan Rahman and Dr Vassili Voronstov attended the Gorgon Research Conference in Physical Metallurgy in Biedport, Maine, USA. Mezan Rahman will be presenting on TWIP steels, and Vassili Vorontsov on interfaces and coarsening in Co3(Al,W).
  • Mitch Cuddihy: gave a presentation - On the effects of length-scale in cold dwell fatigue of alpha-Ti alloys at the 9th European Solid Mechanics Conference, Madrid, Spain
