Why computing banner

The Department of Computing at Imperial is one of the largest computing departments in the UK and is a world leader in academic research in computer science. In the most recent assessment of UK research, the Department was rated as the top Computer Science department in both Research Environment and Research Intensity and our degree programmes are consistently rated at or near the top in ‘Good University’ league tables.

Our central London location is also a huge advantage. With some of the world’s biggest businesses on your doorstep, studying at Imperial can be your launchpad to a life-changing career.

But life at Imperial isn’t all labs and lectures – we also have over 380 student-led clubs, societies and projects to get involved in and state-of-the-art sports facilities right on campus. The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2022 also named us University of the Year for Student Experience 2022.
