ImmNET Journal Club

Coming January 2022

Summary

The Immuno-Pathology Network is pleased to announce the launch of a monthly immunology “journal club”. The aim is to provide an online opportunity once a month to discuss some cutting edge research from the network while meeting and getting to know other network members in an informal setting across the various institutes.

When: 3rd Thursday of the month, 16:00-17:00

Where: Zoom - to allow interaction between members across the different institutes.

Format: Once a month a network member will be invited to discuss their latest published findings in the journal club. After a brief introduction from the invited session lead, the attendees will be randomly allocated to small group breakout rooms (no more than six people) to discuss the paper informally for 25-30 minutes. Everyone will return to the main room for an overall discussion and question and answer with the session lead.

Target audience: Everyone is welcome, but these sessions are likely to be particularly useful for early career researchers to discuss and learn about the publication process from senior researchers while broadening their research network. Depending on attendance, breakout rooms can be tailored to focus on specific career stages.

Workshops

The Immuno-Pathology Network will host one workshop per term at the Francis Crick Institute. More details will be added here closer to the time of the events. Drinks and nibbles will be provided.
