Summary

From Nov 2022 to March 2024, Mari led on Programmes and Partnerships for Imperial’s Global Development Hub – a strategic flagship project that brings together Imperial’s community to develop, amplify and support research and education impact in Lower Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) and Least Developed Countries (LDCs). 

They also run a high impact academic community-building events, lectures and workshops that bring together Imperial academics from different disciplines and  external stakeholders, such as academia, governments, policy makers, multilateral organisations, NGOs, civil society and industry, to tackle SDG-related development challenges and facilitate the translation of scientific evidence into policy.

Mari has a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from the University of São Paulo, and a non-Academic Masters in Applied Neurosciences and Psychology from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, in Brazil. They also are also a PRINCE 2 Certified project manager and have a professional certificate in Science Communications from the University of Bristol.

They are fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish, and, before joining Imperial, they worked as a Senior Knowledge Analyst for the Boston Consulting Group and Science Manager for the British Embassy in Brasília.
