Temporary closure of Hammersmith shuttle bus stop and relocation of White City bus stop from Monday 5th August.
Normal service will resume from Monday 30th September 2024
From Monday 5th August until Sunday 29th September, the Hammersmith shuttle bus stop will be temporarily closed due to ongoing works on the A40 Westway and at the White City Campus North entrance. This measure is necessary to avoid significant delays to your journeys.
The shuttle service will now enter White City Campus through the north entrance and exit via the south entrance. Consequently, the bus stop will be relocated to outside the I-Hub (see image below).
For staff and students traveling to or from Hammersmith, please note that it is a brief walk to or from White City. A map of the walking route is below for your convenience.
(Walking route description: From Hammersmith campus, walk out on to Du Cane Road and turn left. Walk along Du Cane Road until you reach Wood Lane. At Wood Lane, cross the road and head south for 80 metres/200 feet then turn left to enter the White City Campus via the School of Public Health road access. Follow the road past the GradPad and Molecular Science Research Hub to the I-Hub.)
Additionally, the SafeZone app geofenced zone includes this walking route. This will ensure that you can reach the Community Safety and Security team if you encounter any issues during your walk.
At present, we are not aware of any passengers who would be unable to make alternative arrangements. However, if you are impacted and require an accompanied walk, please contact the Security Office (details below) who will make the necessary arrangements.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this period.

How it works
- No need to book: With an expanded fleet of buses now in place, there is no need to pre-book your journey. You’ll simply be able to hop on and hop off (capacity allowing) at any of our stops. Buses at peak times – normally 8.00-9.15 and 17.00 onwards - are likely to be very busy.
- Eastbound or Westbound: In line with Transport for London, we will display each journey as an ‘eastbound’ or ‘westbound’ service. The eastbound service will travel between White City and South Kensington, whilst the westbound service will run between South Kensington and White City.
The shuttle bus service is wheelchair accessible.
