The NERC-funded 'Innovating for Sustainable Development' programme was a joint venture run between the SSCP and SCENARIO DTPs from January to March 2017. The programme consisted of two residentials and three workshops, using the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a framework for interdisciplinary learning and to explore and find solutions to environmental challenges.

Collaboration was a key aspect of the programme: PhD students that come from a wide variety of disciplines and institutions with an interest in innovation and sustainability (including Imperial College London, King's College London, UCL, Reading, Surrey and the Royal College of Art) took part.
