The Department of Aeronautics currently offers three postgraduate (MSc) taught programmes.

Applications for the 2024-25 academic year closed on 31st May 2024. Applications for 2025-26 will open in October 2024.

Advanced Aeronautical Engineering

This MSc programme provides courses on the fundamental disciplines that are of prime importance for developing new enabling technologies vital to the design of more environmentally friendly future aircraft, and offers multi-disciplinary training in aircraft technologies for reducing environmental impact and life-cycle costs.

Advanced Computational Methods

Advanced training in computational methods, the underlying physical principles, and appropriate experimental techniques for aeronautics and other sectors. This MSc is suitable for applicants who wish to enhance their engineering training or to convert to an advanced engineering discipline from backgrounds in mathematics, physics or computer science.

Composites

Advanced composite materials are a vital material technology that also offer operational savings and extended service lifetimes due to their high strength-to-weight and high stiffness-to-weight ratios. This MSc programme will provide a broad education in all aspects of composite science and technology for students coming from a wide range of backgrounds in science and engineering.
