Overview

In an era of modern healthcare, it is essential that all stakeholders are aware of the foundations of eHealth and the latest trends in this field. This introductory and interactive course, delivered by experts in the field of eHealth will provide you with clear insights regarding the associated challenges and opportunities.

This course is run over three days and will cover the fundamental aspects within eHealth. In association with interactive lecture sessions, a number of practical and group discussions are included to make for a vibrant and engaging course. This serves as an opportunity to explore the concepts in greater depth, raise questions, and enable participants to acquire greater understanding regarding the role of eHealth.

Who should attend?

This course is open to all participants with a genuine interest in the application of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) within healthcare. Participants should have at minimum an undergraduate degree in any discipline.

By the end of this course, participants should be able to:

  1. Discuss the foundations of eHealth and the impact on healthcare services.
  2. Outline all the components that are essential for electronic health records and the configuration of EHR/EMR in different health care systems.
  3. Demonstrate how methods of eHealth improve the quality of healthcare systems.
  4. Illustrate how eHealth is beneficial for applications in health and wellbeing (HWB) and prevention of diseases.
  5. Outline the foundations of mHealth or mobile technology in healthcare and its impact on the delivery of care in healthcare systems.
  6. Interpret how eLearning can be used to improve education in healthcare.
  7. Demonstrate the role and importance of privacy, policy, and security in eHealth.
  8. Outline the significance of big data for eHealth.
  9. Explain IT governance of eHealth in healthcare organisations.
  10. Discuss the latest trends and future developments of eHealth.
