This is our robot tele-operation system called "DE VITO" (Design Engineering's Virtual Interface for Tele-Operation). It is based on a virtual reality headset, hand controllers, and body tracking markers. DE VITO is used to teleoperate Robot DE NIRO and other mobile manipulation robots.

A prototype upper-body exoskeleton that we are building in our lab. Can be combined with a VR system for more immersive teleoperation of robots.

A miniature hydraulic robot arm. Used for teaching purpose as a prop for illustration of concepts.

Holonomic mobile robot

Holonomic mobile robot

An omni-directional mobile robot with 4 Mecanum wheels. Being holonomic means that it can move in any possible direction, including sideways.

Robot hand

Robot hand

A 3-fingered aluminium robot hand driven by high-torque servo actuators. It has force sensing in each finger and is able to grasp a variety of objects while controlling precisely the applied grasping force.
