We regularly host science activities and events at the Invention Rooms and in the community. We’re always looking for academics and postgraduate research students to help share the wonder of science and their research with the wider community.

We hosted an afternoon of robot-related activities for local children and their families in August 2019. Activities included scribblebots, Lego WeDo kits and VR headsets.
A graduate from the Department of Bioengineering, also showcased his robotic hand that mimics human anatomy to allow for more natural motions.
W12 Festival pop up
At the W12 Festival, Imperial brought a taste of the Invention Rooms into the community with a stall supported by staff from the Makerspace, the Hackspace, Cancer Research UK and the Neuroepidemiology team.
Community members got involved in virtual reality demonstrations, 3D printing, brain games and the Maker Zone.
