Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Liaison Librarian to join the Library Liaison Team (Business, Engineering and Natural Sciences). You will have a proactive approach to service delivery in order to provide innovative, user-focused services to support the learning, teaching and research needs of staff and students at Imperial College London.

Duties and responsibilities

Based at the South Kensington campus, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, proactive Library services to meet the learning, teaching and research needs of students, staff and researchers in the Engineering departments but will also provide support for other faculties as and when required.

As well as this you will develop and sustain effective relationships with a broad range of Library users and act as one of the primary contacts between the Library and the departments.  This will include forming new relationships to increase engagement between the Library and academic departments across Imperial College.

Essential requirements

You should have strong communication and presentation skills and will have a demonstrable ability to cultivate new relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Alongside this you should also have experience in delivering library services within a higher education/research environment.

An aptitude for using technology to deliver innovative information literacy programmes to support College researchers and learners is essential.

This is a part-time (17.5 hours per week), permanent post. The start date is 5th August 2019.
