Applications are invited for a research associate position to join the Molecular Systems Engineering group to investigate the fundamental aspects of separations of organic fluids under ultraconfinement. 

Duties and responsibilities

The aim of the project is to develop a molecular model to study fundamental aspects of membrane-based separations. The post is funded by ExxonMobil Research. The main role of the post holder is to deploy and analyse non-equilibrium molecular dynamics of models of fluids through nanoporous membranes. The post will be hosted in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London (South Kensington Campus) under the supervision of Prof. Erich A. Müller.

Essential requirements

You should hold or be near completion of a PhD in Chemical Engineering or a related field. You will have experience with thermodynamics models, equations of state, and coarse-grained force fields. You will also have proven experience with the use of molecular dynamics simulation programs, coding and the use of high performance computer resources.
