President's Awards for Excellence in Teaching

These awards are for outstanding teaching quality, organisation and presentation. This could include excellence in the following areas:

  • Course design and delivery
  • Teaching quality
  • Learning materials
  • Assessment methods
  • Feedback
  • Teaching innovation
  • Outreach

Up to fifteen awards will be made, including up to four President's Medals for Outstanding Contribution to Teaching Excellence.


President's Awards for Excellence in Student Support

These awards are for exceptional contributions towards a supportive learning environment. Staff in any role across the College, not only Personal Tutors, may be considered. Exemplary behaviour and actions could include:

  • Establishing robust procedures to help ensure swift and effective support
  • Implementing innovative approaches and good practice
  • Being considered a role model by peers
  • Maintaining the highest standards of professional conduct

Up to five awards will be made, including up to two Medals for Excellence in Student Support.


President's Awards for Excellence in Research Supervision

These awards are for exceptional research supervision, encouragement and support. This could include excellence in the following areas:

  • Creating a stimulating environment for research
  • Encouraging students to innovate and push boundaries
  • A wider commitment to postgraduate education
  • Being available, approachable and supportive
  • Offering high quality advice and guidance
  • Giving students the confidence to present their work at conferences and other events

Up to five awards will be made, including up to two Medals for Excellence in Research Supervision


President's Awards for Excellence in Supporting the Student Experience

These awards are for outstanding contributions to enhancing the student experience made by any members of staff at the College (academic, professional and technical) and may include examples of the following:

  • Implementing innovative approaches and good practice
  • Providing high quality support to student academic activities
  • Developing new procedures or systems which benefit student activities
  • Provision of high quality resources for students
  • Delivering excellent student and customer service

Up to five awards will be made, including up to two Medals for Excellence in Supporting the Student Experience.
