Participate in Plexus Career Connect: Women in Maths speed-mentoring event - 20 April

Plexus Career Connect is a new initiative that brings alumni together in a speed-mentoring context around a specific theme or subject. The theme for the next event is Women in Maths

Recent graduates (mentees) working in, or aspiring to, a maths related profession, or holding a maths related degree, will be able to connect with more experienced alumni mentors who can talk to them about their career and/or professional development.

We are looking for experienced alumni who studied Maths at Imperial who can help recent graduates to address career development and work-related challenges or help them expand their networksNo prior mentoring experience is required. Both women and men can participate as a mentor.

Speed-mentoring is a series of short, focused conversations about specific questionsThese are impactful one-off conversations in small groups that allow for a quick-fire exchange of ideas and questions between recent graduates and more experienced alumni, without the level of commitment needed for an ongoing mentoring relationship.

Deliver a virtual Alumni Masterclass for recent graduates

Our Masterclass series provides recent Imperial graduates with opportunities for professional development and networking. Combining thought leadership with the opportunity to develop and refine skills and personal attributes for success, our Masterclasses attract an international alumni audience from many different sectors and disciplines. Recent topics have addressed new ways of networking to remain visible in a virtual world of work and what it means to be a modern manager.

We are keen to hear from experienced alumni who would like to share their own expertise and deliver an interactive virtual masterclass on a professional development/career related theme. If you are passionate and knowledgeable about a subject or have a contemporary, new angle on a traditional theme, we would like to hear from you. If you have an idea in mind we can help you shape the content to develop this into a Masterclass.

If you're interested in taking part or would like to find out more, please contact Karine Madoian, Alumni Engagement and Events Coordinator, on alumni@imperial.ac.uk.
