The polar regions are highly vulnerable to global warming. While global temperatures have risen by 1°C, the Antarctic Peninsula has seen a temperature increase of more than 2.5°C. This briefing considers how the Antarctic Peninsula will respond to further increase in global temperatures of 0.5°C, and why it is essential to limit global warming to 1.5°C.
