You do not have to be a scientist to enjoy and understand science. Science is everywhere: it helps you make a hot cup of tea, see the objects around you, cross a bridge safely, understand the natural world and ask some of the biggest questions about the universe.

From the forces that hold galaxies together to the laws that shape biodiversity, and from everyday materials to the subatomic particles that form the building blocks of everything, science offers an extraordinary way of exploring how the world works.

This course gives you a lively introduction to that adventure. Each week, you will explore a different area of science, while also considering scientific ideas and discoveries that are shaping the world around us and influencing our future.

Classes will include illustrated talks, group discussion and short demonstrations of experiments. The course is designed for beginners, so no prior scientific knowledge is required. All you need is curiosity and an inquisitive mind.
