Probing the functional role of specific genomic alterations requires bespoke model systems designed to measure the precise biological consequences of genetic changes. This demands seamless collaboration between engineers who deliver cutting-edge technologies and genomic specialists who understand the pathological processes being interrogated.
Our approach centres on developing microfluidic platforms, microfabrication techniques, and miniaturized microphysiological systems that recapitulate disease-relevant environments. With novel biosensors, probes, and actuators, we aim to stimulate and facilitate technology creation that bridges the gap between genetic variation and functional understanding.
