The Functional Genomics Early Career Researcher group aims to bring together ECRs working across all aspects of functional genomics in order to support their development and growth.
Will do this by:
- Skills development – including both scientific and transferrable skills, in the form of workshops and training events
- Increase shared knowledge of science – through seminar series where ECRs will be encouraged to present
- Providing a platform to share resources and reach out for scientific advice – this will be particularly useful to receive feedback and strengthen grant and fellowship applications
- Provide opportunities for networking across a wide range of disciplines – to foster collaborations and establish connections among peers and with senior academics
- Provide a supportive peer community to ensure we excel in our career aspirations.
The early career representative will be an advocate for young scientists to ensure their voices are heard and that their development is at the forefront of the excellence network.
