Imperial Maths School celebrates another strong set of A-level results
by Press Office
The Imperial Maths School has received its second set of A-level results since opening in September 2023.
Following the exceptional results of the inaugural cohort, which saw the school ranked 2nd in the UK overall by The Times, Imperial Maths School has once again performed incredibly strongly, with the hard work from the students and staff paying dividends.
Among the cohort of 60 students, 88.1% of grades in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry awarded were A* or A, with an incredible 43.3% of students achieving straight A* grades across these subjects.

Professor Maggie Dallman, Associate Provost (Societal Engagement) and academic lead in setting up the school, said: “This set of results is another fantastic achievement for the School, which is still growing and developing. It is a brave decision for students to make when choosing to study at a small, specialist school. The students are leaving the school not only with top grades and a unique educational experience behind them, but excitement for the pathways that they have now opened up into higher education and beyond.”
Destination Imperial
Headteacher David Lee was very pleased to see the students progress to a range of institutions, with around a quarter of the students from this year’s cohort shortly commencing their studies at Imperial in the Departments of Aeronautical Engineering, Computing, Materials, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics and the Business School.

"It’s great to see such impressive destinations for our students, and in particular so many progressing to Imperial. We are immensely proud of all our students’ achievements, and I’m excited to see where their journeys take them next.
"Their results are a product not only of the commitment and hard work they have shown throughout their school careers, but also of the way they have embraced opportunities, shown curiosity and enthusiasm for learning for its own sake, and, in their two years at the school, embedded themselves in the community and supported one another.
"I would also like to thank the teachers and wider staff body whose expertise, commitment and encouragement have helped make these achievements possible. These outcomes reflect the strength of the whole school community."

Professor Peter Haynes
Imperial Provost and Deputy President, Professor Peter Haynes, offered his congratulations to the students and staff.
“We’re very pleased to see another strong set of A-level results at the Imperial Maths School, and this is testament to the work the students have put in and the continued dedication of the staff. We’re especially delighted to be welcoming a number of students to Imperial to begin their undergraduate studies here in the autumn.”
