Hi, I'm Križan. I completed my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Bioengineering in Munich and Weihenstephan-Triesdorf. During that time, I worked at the Max Planck Institute in Martinsried in Dr. Heuer-Jungemann’s group, where I explored DNA origami structures in cancer biology.

Since October 2022, I’ve been pursuing a PhD in Dr. Thomas Ouldridge’s group at Imperial College London, funded by the Royal Society. My research focuses on developing a minimal mechanism for polymer self-replication, aiming toward the long-term goal of synthetic life.

Outside the SynBio world, I’m into martial arts, sci-fi novels, history docus, and the quest for the perfect coffee-to-mug ratio.

(And if you’re wondering – the "ž" sounds like the "s" in measure.)
