Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is widely recognised as a serious global health threat, particularly in bacteria. However, fungal antimicrobial resistance (fAMR) - the rise of fungi that are resistant to antifungal chemicals - remains under-recognised despite its growing impact on human heath and agriculture. Resistance is already limiting our ability to treat life-threatening fungal infections and to protect crops from disease, presenting a classic One Health problem that links people, animals, plants and the environment.
