The Airwave Follow-up Survey 2026
We are pleased to be offering the 2026 online follow-up survey to all participants in the Airwave cohort.
If you have received an email invitation from the Study's address airwave@imperial.ac.uk, it's because you have previously participated in a Airwave and gave us permission to contact you about future research opportunities. It is entirely up to you whether you decide to participate. Postal letters and Text message invitations from Airwave may be sent if we think your email invitation hasn't reached you.
To take part in the study you need to follow the instructions in your invitation. You will be taken to your online portal where you may need to enter your participant ID and we will ask for your date of birth to verify who you are.
What does the survey involve?
-
-
The main questionnaire includes several short sections (e.g. health, lifestyle, medical history) and takes about 30-45 minutes to complete.
-
The survey also includes additional components: a cognitive function test (about 15 minutes to complete), a hearing test (5-10 minutes to complete), a short set of questions about your home environment (5 minutes to complete) and a food diary, called Intake24 (20-30 minutes to complete).
-
You can pause, save and return at any time except during the hearing test.
-
If you would like to receive your cognitive and hearing test results, they will be available immediately. You will receive feedback on your food diary entries, you can view an example here. All your answers will be kept strictly confidential .
If you have retired, left the Police Service, or never used an Airwave radio, your results will be as valuable as for serving officers / staff.
We will send all participants an invitation to take part. If you have not received an email, letter or SMS and believe you are eligible to take part, please contact us at airwave@imperial.ac.uk.
If you need to update your contact details, please do so here.
