Tom Tapper

Tom graduated from the MSc Science Communication in 2008.

"I loved studying Environmental Sciences. But towards the end of my undergraduate, I felt like I didn't fit the typical scientist box. Communication and creativity had always been a passion of mine, and I wanted to understand how I could bring the two worlds of science and communication together. The MSc in Science Communication did exactly that. It gave me both the theory and practical skills I needed to launch my career. Shortly after graduating, I decided to set up a business with a fellow student. That business, a creative agency we called Nice and Serious, enabled me to put everything I'd learned into practice. Now, over 16 years later, I have a team of 25 people and work with some of the world's leading NGOs, businesses and scientific institutions. My work has taken me around the world and given me experiences that I'll never forget. Quite simply, it wouldn't have happened had I not had the time, space and expert guidance that the MSC in Science Communication gave me."
