We need to develop new ways to help people live well with dementia. We have an ageing population, limited resources for home care and no immediate cures available. All too often patients are isolated and develop preventable problems leading to unnecessary hospital admissions. New technologies hold great promise for providing solutions. We are working to focus the best minds on developing new ways of caring for people with dementia through advanced technologies.
Research & Partners
We have a unique multidisciplinary team of CR&T investigators with expertise in computer science engineering, synthetic biology, neuroscience, and clinical medicine. A cross-cutting data science programme links our research to the rest of the UK DRI. An in-house software engineering team supports the flexible development of new computing capabilities and our unique patient engagement programme, led by the Helix Centre at Imperial, brings the views of people living with dementia to the forefront.
We are based at Imperial College London and the University of Surrey. A central goal for CR&T is to develop technology that impacts NHS and social care practice. We work closely with the Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SABP), Imperial College NHS Trust, North West London Clinical Commissioning group and Hammersmith & Fulham Council.
