The Invention Rooms

The Invention Rooms is Imperial’s pioneering community innovation space. It’s a welcoming place where people of all ages can connect with Imperial staff and students, develop new skills and turn ideas into reality. Our goal is to create opportunities for local people and inspire new inventors, entrepreneurs and makers. As well as workshops and design studios with high-tech equipment, there are areas for people to connect, share ideas, and work on projects together. The friendly team runs a free programme of events, including family discovery days, science workshops, tech drop-ins and coding clubs.

Advanced hackspace

Advanced Hackspace

Imperial’s Advanced Hackspace is a cutting-edge facility where staff and students can prototype and develop new ideas. One of the largest of its kind, it features an electronics and digital manufacturing workshop, a biochemistry lab and a mechanical workshop. Expert ‘hack fellows’ are here to help and are experts in bringing new products to life, from robotics to synthetic biology and molecular fabrication.

Hammersmith Hospital Campus

Just around the corner from White City Deep Tech Campus is Imperial’s Hammersmith Hospital Life Sciences Campus. This leading research and teaching hospital is renowned for the quality of its clinical research. Home to much of Imperial’s Faculty of Medicine, it is co-located with Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Here, Imperial drives the translation of research from the lab to the clinic and educates tomorrow's healthcare professionals and medical researchers.

The campus also hosts the MRC Laboratory of Medical Sciences, a unique hub for medical discovery.
