For the DMT module, Mechanical Engineering undergraduates work in groups on design briefs proposed by staff members. Students do all the planning, testing and execution of prototypes themselves.
Projects this year include a solar energy collector for rice irrigation, low-cost arm prosthetics ready for mass production, a performance monitoring tool for rowing and a wireless spirometer that can connect to smartphones.
