Li-SM3

The 2nd Li-SM3 conference will again bring together the world’s leading academics, scientists and engineers to discuss the priority areas of Lithium Sulfur rechargeable battery chemistry research.

Organised by Imperial College London and /OXIS Energy, with the support of the Joint Center for Energy Research, it will begin with an introduction to the chemistry for newcomers and highlights of the key challenges, followed by dedicated sessions on each key topic

Session topics

  • Mechanisms
Discussions on how and why Li-S operates in the way it does and how this presents fundamental issues that we need to solve.
  • Modelling
How the Li-S chemistry can be modelled and what insights this gives us into how the cell works, which in turn can help direct research and also be used in control systems.
  • Materials
What new materials can be used to solve the issues seen in Li-S chemistry and turn it into a viable product for the market.
  • Applications
Systems designers and users give their thoughts on what performance they need to make their products work, to help set research goals for the community.

Registration

The cost fo early bird registration for the meeting is £350 for non-students and £200 for students.

To get these prices attendees are asked to register as soon as possible.

Location

The conference will be held in the iconic IET Savoy Place in central London, shown as the yellow pin in the map below. London is well connected by airports, road and rail links.
