Imperial College London are hosting the UK’s first Greenlight4Girls event on Saturday 26th September 2015. We are looking for 12-16 year old girls to come to the college for a day of interactive STEM workshops and seminars! Teams of scientists from Imperial will be joined by CISCO, P&G, the RSC, IET and many more to run a free day of experiments and excitement!
To give you an idea of the sessions, here is a selection of a few of them:
– Codes and Ciphers of the past and present: A genuine World War II Enigma machine will be exhibited to demonstrate to the girls how to decode!
– Universal Wonders: The Royal Astronomical outreach team is bringing their 6m planetarium and will guide you throught the wonders of our place in the Universe.
– Lights, Camera, Action!: Follow the footsteps of a science journalist. Get some experience behind and front of the camera and help make science news come alive!
– The Power of Mixing: Ever wondered how we use something as simple as soap to transform milk to ‘magic milk’? Come and explore with the experts from Procter&Gamble how you can transform everyday ingredients into science fun.
– Getting ‘In the Biz’!: Do you dream of being the next Steve Jobs or Cheryl Samberg (one fo the founders of Facebook)? Dream of starting your own company or change the world? In this seminar learn how YOU can already make an impact and how science is used in business today and tomorrow.
