In this talk we will present a series of models relating to the dynamics of  carbon sequestration, and associated natural processes, including the dynamics of buoyancy driven dispersion in saline aquifers and problems of the non uniqueness in the inversion of seismic data using models of gravity current dynamics.

In the second part of the talk, we will discuss the natural processes of cold CO2 geysers and CO2 driven lake explosions, illustrating the phenomena using a combination of simplified models and novel laboratory experiments.
