Applications are now open!
This two-year programme aims to support up to 90 students in their Y10 and Y11 studies via lectures, subject specific workshops and a non-residential summer school in Summer 2016.
There will be a number of contact days when you are expected to attend scheduled events at Imperial College London – these days will be Masterclasses in Science, Engineering and Maths subjects. In addition, lectures and other university experience taster days will be provided.
In summary:
- Introductory evening for students, parents and teachers
- Half Term and / or Easter workshops to give students a taste of life as a university student and to boost confidence and ability
- A non-residential summer school for all students on the programme
- Opportunity to attend STEM lectures and other events within Imperial College London
To apply for the programme you will need to fulfil the following criteria:
- Be in Year 10 from September 2015
- Be sitting your GCSE exams in Summer 2017
- Have a keen interest in Science and Maths
- Be capable of achieving a minimum of 5A and 3B grades in your GCSE’s including an A in Maths and at least two Sciences and B grade in English Language
- Be considering studying Science and Maths subjects in your post 16 studies
- Be willing to travel to Imperial College London for intervention dates
There will be opportunity at the end of the programme in 2017 for students to continue onto Y12 STEM Potential if they fit the criteria for that programme.
Please note:
This application will take approximately 15 minutes to fill in and you will also be asked to provide a personal statement of up to 500 words as part of the application.
Your responses will be saved for a week if you choose to complete the form at a later stage.
You will be asked to provide details for your teacher and parent/guardian who will be contacted to verify your details and suitability for this course. You should complete this application alongside your parent / guardian.
Please note that the deadline for applications is 11.59pm on Sunday October 4th 2015 and applications that are not completed by this time will not be considered. Teacher declarations will need to be received to support all applications by 11.59pm on Tuesday 13th October. If a reference is not received, applications will not be considered.
All applicants will be informed whether or not they have been successful with their application by Tuesday 27th October 2015.
