Diletta Martinelli (Imperial) – Riemann-Hurwitz theorem and applications

I will recall some basic facts about Riemann surfaces and then prove the Riemann-Hurwitz theorem with easy topological methods. In the end I will show some interesting applications about actions of finite groups over Riemann surfaces.
