Citizen science, also known as crowd-sourced science, offers an alternative avenue of research to be partly or fully conducted by public engagement. As technologies such as the Internet, smartphones, tablets, and computers are becoming rapidly accessible and affordable, there are increasing opportunities to redefine the scientific approach by letting problem definitions and solutions emerge from the crowd. This meeting will discuss citizen science approaches and the potential for applications in hydrology and water resources management.
