Abstract: I will discuss two statistical estimation problems for differential equations driven by rough paths (RDEs):
(i) estimating unknown parameters in the vector field from discrete observations of the response.
(ii) Local estimation of the diffusion parameter from high-frequency data.
These problems have been the object of extensive and ongoing research in the context of SDEs. By generalising to RDEs, the aim is not only to provide statistical tools for a wider range of models but we also to further enhance our understanding of the SDE case.
