The NIHR/Wellcome Trust Imperial Clinical Research Facility (ICRF) at Hammersmith Hospital is a facility dedicated to clinical research. A core team of managers, nurses, medics, regulatory and administrative staff are in place to ensure that clinical research studies are initiated and run effectively through to completion focusing on the safety and welfare of patients and healthy volunteers.
The ICRF Open Day aims to raise the profile of the CRF and the work undertaken here, by opening our doors and inviting the Public and AHSC staff to visit and see what research is all about.
The day will run from 12.30 to 16.00 and will include:
- Vital Signs Screening: including blood pressure, oxygen saturation, body mass index (BMI) and body fat percentage performed by nurses from the ICRF.
- The opportunity to find out about becoming a participant in ongoing and future research studies.
- The opportunity to take part in a randomised trial, involving chocolate!
- Equipment demonstrations.
- Tours of the ICRF and Imanova, the Centre for Imaging Sciences at Hammersmith Hospital.
